Perry’s Thoughts…

We went to the living quarters of 12 IDP’s and met 2of the 12. The others went to an area that gives away clothing which is needed as winter is approaching. We told Alexander, Victoria and the lady that oversees the old hotel the owner rents to them that a container of clothing and buckets with household needs should arrive very shortly & that Ivan will bring needed items to them. There were a few more requests and Gif asked them to make a list that the Elders can look at without promising anything! I do think we will be able to help with some items.

It was a good but sad visit seeing these who have lost everything due to this evil war.

Galena, who we all met at the hospital, invited use to her home for lunch! What a surprise!

By the amount of food she kept bringing, I thought she was up all night cooking! It was a wonderful visit even though she kept trying to get us to drink her “medicine”?????

Chip’s Thoughts…

Awoke to an overcast day with cooler fall temps and were picked up at 7:30am for a trip to Zelena to visit Bogdan and Galina.  It takes around two hours to get there because of some really rough roads along the way.

We arrived after 9:30am at their home and met Peter and his wife, Tonya, who was taking him to get an MRI because of a kidney issue.

Bogdan, Perry, and two passengers rode with us today, Andrew & Visyl, left to go hunting for wild mushrooms.

I stayed at the house with the “ladies!” I used this time to do.my Bible reading which was Matthew 5 and 6. Reading the start of the Sermon on the Mount sitting with a beautiful view of the Carpathian Mountains was an amazing experience. I walked around their pasture and enjoyed the cool mountain air and had a little talk with our Lord.

I had lunch with Sveta, Inna, and Galina. Galina tried to stuff me with very large portions of soup, potatoes with mushroom sauce, cutlets, and fresh cut produce. I tried to eat it all but finally had to speak Spanish, “NO MAS, NO MAS!”

The “boys” returned after 1:00pm and were cutting it close to eat. They were filled and we left after 2:00pm to get back for evening services.

I was to present the class tonight and we had 15 in attendance and “live streamed vis phones” to several other locations. I thought the presentation and questions would take 20-25 minutes but after a short introductory talk and then the class discussion back and forth the class was almost an hour. No Mike Kiser in Sylacauga it wasn’t me doing all the talking but good class participation!

Today was a great day and please pray for Peter and all those who have men in harm’s way in the war! Also pray for continued success on all fronts that this mission team is involved! We are finding that each day brings a surprise as to what we did not expect!

Remember our mission in prayers asking God to grant us success and to open doors of opportunity! Colossians 4:2-4
