Trip report #15— The Church building status & potential!

Featured Photo: The Church of Christ in Ivano-Frankivsk meets in this building. The storage facility is seen to the right. We recently did excavation work on the front, and it really dressed up the “curb appeal”!

NOTE: The photos shown in this report (and all other communications) are NOT to be forwarded or published in any way! The photos can be mined for location coordinates for military strikes. The environment and censorship requirements mandate that I make this point.

This trip is coming to a close. Some amazing developments and meetings have occurred that cannot be documented at this time. There is greater optimism in the nation than I have seen since 2014 when Russia first invaded. There are fewer military deaths thanks to robotics (and that in itself is an amazing discovery). There is a magnanimous gratitude for what our shipments have done and open doors to those associated with our efforts.

Many readers of these reports have contributed to the construction of the church building. We continue to work “little-by-little.” Unfortunately, the building has not progressed as quickly as planned because Satan’s “angel of light” had a hidden agenda to use the construction for his personal gain. A body repair shop was started, there were plans to lease out the unused rooms in the building to others, and a host of other heinous, arrogant actions kept the construction misdirected.

Thanks to Gif and Perry, these devilish schemes were discovered and ended. Ever since, the construction work has continued, and it is amazing! Some of the past corruption is being investigated by the National Security detectives. There is the sad potential that everyone associated with the man responsible for construction, the car shop operations, and the lack of documentation for the distribution of humanitarian aid will be indicted and returned to Ukraine for prosecution. Some are in the USA, Poland, and Canada, but authorities have communication links that show there are still connections between all involved.

BUT that is not our concern. Scripture warns that those who “sow the wind” will “reap the whirlwind.” Also, the worldliness and blasphemy of Demas are reflected in this man and those who joined with him in the criminal activities.

Below are photos of the ongoing construction. The building is debt-free as we pay as we go and refuse to borrow any funds. Pasha is doing a master craftsman job on EVERY facet of the construction. Pasha is a critical component of the Ivano-Frankivsk congregation. In the photos of worship, he is often leading the Communion observance, opening the assemblies with a cheerful welcome, or even preaching the lesson. In the photos from last Sunday, you saw him as “chief Chef”!

Pasha has been working in the auditorium. He has put together, piece by piece, a tongue-and-groove ceiling and has painted it by brush three times! He has plastered the wall twice, sanded it, and painted it by brush. He has been working on finishing the windows by boxing them in. In doing this, he has used the scaffolding that he manufactured himself (shown in last fall’s reports!).

The interior is coming along exceptionally well!

It is exciting to know that the Church building will be utilized by the World Bible Institute (WBI). This will train gospel preachers to go into western Ukraine and the neighboring nations. WBI had begun a school in Ivano-Frankivsk previously, but the Devil’s “angel of light” hindered the school and ultimately said he knew better how to run a school and closed the WBI extension. Of course NOTHING was done.

Upon the termination of this hindering man, I contacted David Hamrick and asked if we could resume the extension utilizing the Church building as we had previously planned. Once David learned that Satan’s “angel of light” had been terminated and had left for the USA, he was enthusiastic about the opportunity. The location and the facility will be beyond any other opportunity ever presented! Spencer Ross and Avery Hackney (with the faithful Arnold, MO congregation!) came earlier this year and scouted the opportunity. The results are stated in David’s April 2026 report.

David Hamrick, WBI April 2026 Report:

Brother Avery Hackney serves as our Representative to Ukraine. We have been discussing plans to reestablish the preacher school in Ivano-Frankivsk. Avery gave us an encouraging update via zoom from his recent trip to I-F. Brother Hackney is a minister in Missouri. We are ready to move forward with the project based upon the conclusion of the war with Russia.

Again, I ask you to remember my trip in prayer with the Apostle’s request in Ephesians 6:19, “(O)n my behalf, that utterance may be given unto me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel.”
