In the above photo you see a conference that was hosted by Mayor Anatoly Romanovych in Lysets, Ukraine. Anatoly has been a longtime friend and has offered great assistance to our efforts. He has gone “to the mat” several times to enable us to overcome bureaucratic obstacles. He had provided the Church an office space free in the city administration building. He is a fine man with a good family. I am honored to have him as a friend.
We scheduled this meeting to discuss a number of issues and were surprised that he had summoned representatives from various organizations to be present and meet us. We discussed a number of ways that the Church could be of help to them as they assist the community.
Anatoly’s meeting lasted most of the day but he still wanted to host us to a good meal. As we sat down Anatoly was giving the server instructions for the meal. Afterwards he looked at me and said the serve had asked about any alcoholic drinks and Anatoly winked at me and said there would be none.
These meetings are helping us to broaden the network and strengthen our reputation not only in the local communities but on a national basis.
It is thanks to those supporting our efforts that we are becoming positioned more and more to leverage the benevolent works for the reputation and respect of the Church (just as the brethren did in the Book of Acts!).
Pray for our success in seeing and taking advantage of the “open doors” that are before us!
A slideshow of today’s meeting is below.
