JOHN IS CURRENTLY ON HIS SPRING TRIP TO UKRAINE. PLEASE KEEP HIM IN YOUR PRAYERS.

Update–08/11/2022

Photo: Translated: “My country is Ukraine.” This is one of the thank you messages that the children, in the shelter, gave to Charita and others who visited. We have assisted this Children’s Shelter for a number of years. Now the shelter has increased the population of children because many have lost parents who were killed by the Russian missiles and the military occupation of Ukraine.

BUCKETS!!

Thanks for the help from our American brothers, we have the opportunity to take care of the refugees by giving them family buckets and food and of course, talking about the help that came from God through the hands of the Church. Many do not have elementary thinks. The family buckets have all that you need for living out of home. Great idea! Thanks for that container that we received for local congregation, and to share with many others.

A group will be traveling into Poland and Ukraine in September-October. Plans are being finalized now for this mission. Here is communication on the developments thus far:

Hi Brother John. Thank you for the prayers and support of our congregation. The worship assembly on Sunday went well, we have new people and some of them want to live in the church premises. We hope that it will be so. But all these issues still need to be discussed with you.

We work with people, distribute aid and Bibles, invite to the Church. But there are many other people with whom we conduct classes individually. For various reasons, they are not yet ready to overcome their beliefs internally, and it takes time for this.

On visit in September I think it would be good if Gif, Ruslan and Masha held classes with children in Ugorniki. Masha continues to maintain good relations with Lyubov Zinovievna’s daughter Maryana. This is very good and has a perspective for the future, when our congregation will finish construction and we will start holding various youth meetings and training. He and Masha are very active and communicating with Gif would help them absorb the experience.

Everything is ready for Perry and Beto to work in Zelena, everything is prepared there and they are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the brothers from America.

We will organize a meeting with the Administration of the City, Region and Military. They are also eagerly waiting for you. I love you brother, thank God that you are going to be here. May the Lord help you in your plans.

Here are some recent photos of the Church of Christ in Ivano-Frankivsk at worship:

Laying in the fall harvest for the upcoming winter

Masha and Ruslan have been in the village helping to gather grain. As you can see they are storing grain in sacks that will be in cellars. David and Timofey also helped. All people say that the winter will be hard and possibly hungry. Therefore, we are stocking up on grain and everything else we can harvest to support our families and the Church.

Charita has been in Ukraine following up on distributions and validating our network’s reliability. She sends this note:

“Good morning, John, I woke up today with a rooster screaming outside my window. I am staying with a family Bityachiti. I am enjoying milk from under a cow, cheese from a goat, and eggs every morning from under a chicken.  Amazing experience. Dona and I are going to a couple of children’s homes today and a clinic. So much to tell, but I cannot put everything into words at this time.”

Today, Sveta, her sister Ina, Charita and Dona were at various orphanages.

There are no words to describe the situation once you get there. Those in photos are children who lost their parents to the war. They took turns asking to be held and hugged. Cursed war, it has taken many lives and broken so many destinies of good people. The children drew messages to send to Christians in USA who helped them. While there Charita and Dona got to experience the bomb shelter when sirens sounded.

Please help us to continue sending critically needed commodities to those surrounded by and beset by evil!
