We began Monday morning with a good discussion with the men of the church here about planning the budget for the future. Simba worked up an example based on the Dalraida missions budget and we explained to them the necessity of breaking down every little possible cost so that every base is covered. We also created a base document for the men of the church here to begin working on for themselves. They had also made a document to start the process of budgeting and they were able to compare the two budget sheets. Already there was much discussion about where things could be added and how money could be used more effectively. They were very excited about learning how to create a budget sheet as they had not been using one. This will be a good springboard for our discussion tomorrow.
In the evening, we met with some of the teenage boys from the church here and conducted a Bible class with them. Their parents had asked specifically that we discuss baptism with them so we walked them through Romans 5-6. One of the boys was especially attentive and very knowledgeable already, so I believe he may be close to making the decision to obey the Gospel! It is not just the men of the church but the younger men as well who want to take leadership roles and grow the church and they showed that by coming to a class on a busy Monday.
