Construction in Ivano-Frankivsk

The congregation in Ivano-Frankivsk continues to work toward building a church meeting house.  They are doing a little work at a time (most of it themselves with help of other contractors). The work is a “pay-as-we-go” project. We do not want to have a debt hanging over us.

The project is not just the construction of a Church Meeting House but is an operations complex for multiple efforts by the Lord’s Church to spread the gospel in that part of the globe. The plan is summarized in the report below.

To help reduce costs the brethren are purchasing materials themselves, arranging transportation, and doing manual labor instead of hiring laborers.

Phase I: Warehouse/Storage Building

The original goal was to secure the gifted property by putting up a fence and build a storage building that could double as a meeting place when needed.  This was begun in 2016 and finished in 2017. Following that the foundation for the main structure was poured before winter’s harsh climate forced a suspension.

The storage/distribution center is full of humanitarian aid and distributions continue on a daily basis. Critical commodities are being delivered to educational, healthcare and orphan/elderly facilities. Thus far 65 containers of humanitarian aid has been shipped to and delivered by the Ivano-Frankivsk congregation!

Phase II: Walls and Roof

In order to continue into Phase II of the meeting house for the church, funds have to be raised.  Because of many gracious donors, sufficient funds were given to pour the foundation and begin the brick walls.

This phase will include laying the bricks for the structure walls, putting up the wood over the bricks for the inside walls and putting on the roof. This phase will “dry-in” the construction so work can continue even in the harsh winter climate.

As of 29 October 2019, we are now installing the rafters and beams necessary for the roof to be installed. Winter’s weather is quickly coming and we are feverishly working to get the roof installed for protection of the structure. At this point we are paid up in consts but our next payment is due 15 December and we lack $21,000 to have this payment ready. Can you help?
