Even though there have been no Gulf hurricanes, the last month has been a whirlwind of activity. We loaded out three containers from the Montgomery, AL warehouse, proofed three books that will be scheduled for publishing as soon as Johnny has time, and received my newest publication (“The Pendulum Swing”), which addresses the damning instability when the Lord’s congregations move “off-center.” (https://kachelmanpublications.com/product/the-pendulum-swing/).
The last container I loaded before my departure was Wednesday. This container is going to the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Hospital and is stuffed full of wound dressings, medical supplies, and other urgently needed items. Among the items sent are three (out of the twelve received) ophthalmic chairs and units brought to Montgomery, AL, from the Lions Club in the St. Louis, MO area (LaDue area). Below are the totals loaded that you helped send on this load:
Total Weight: 18,880 lbs
Total USA Value: $738,549.00
Total Pieces: 1,486
My POC in this project is Dr. Denys (a cardiologist in Ivano-Frankivsk who often visits the worship assemblies). Denys is a critical person in the Galaxy Center’s operations and has been a great help in many different projects. After the loading, I sent him the final load documents, and he sent this good note:
“Dear John, thank you and Dalraida Church of Christ so much for everything you have done and continue to do for the Regional Hospital and for us. We truly appreciate all your efforts in preparing and loading the container. The medical supplies, ophthalmic chairs, slit lamp, hospital beds, mattresses, and everything else will be of great help to the hospital and to the patients who need them. Please know that we are very grateful not only for the equipment and supplies, but also for the care and personal attention behind them. Thank you again for your generosity, support, and friendship. It means a great deal to us, especially in these difficult times. I am also very much looking forward to seeing you! Best wishes, Denys”
Due to airline scheduling, this current visit will be shorter than previous trips. I will send back regular reports.
I am very thankful for those who support my efforts, and I want to highlight the Knob Creek Church of Christ (Fulton, KY) and Harold & Jean Bridges (Searcy, AR) who specifically send funds that help with trip expenses.
The brethren at C.U.R.E. (Ft. Smith, AR) loaded a container on 16 August. It was shipped via MEEST. The container arrived last week and was unloaded. Photos of its unloading are in the slideshow below. This container shipped over $470,000.00 of critically needed medical supplies. These are desperately needed and are being moved ASAP to the hospitals and clinics of greatest need. I plan to visit the final distribution sites on this trip. Please understand that photos will be strictly controlled, which is reasonable given the martial laws governing photos during wartime. Recent events in the Lyman salient illustrate the need to comply with the censor’s requirements. Those disregarding these directives and treating photos in a frivolous manner will face a frightening reckoning after the war.
The temperature in Ivano-Frankivsk this morning was 36F!

Thank you for your constant prayers!
