Corporate worship to the Lord God Almighty has always stirred joy in the hearts of God’s People. Psalm 122:1 is a text I have heard numerous times referring to the joy found in the assemblies of those who worship God “in spirit and truth” (John 4:24). “I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let’s go to the house of the Lord’.”

A contextual framing of the Psalm…This is a Psalm specified as one of those in the “Songs of ascents.” Going “up” to Jerusalem required ascending the incline. These songs were sung as worshippers traveled up to Jerusalem to celebrate religious festivals at the Temple. This grouping of Psalms is wonderful to read and reread. These capture the eager anticipation and joyous attitudes of those gathering together to worship God.
In our day, this Psalm expresses a deep love for congregational fellowship and a spiritual uplifting that is found only as the congregation specifically obeys God’s Word.
These “ascent psalms” are the words of worshippers exhorting one another to worship the Almighty as He has commanded. Read and realize the wonderful attitude described. Let us emulate exactly!
The joy of the Israelites going to worship ought to be eclipsed by the greater joy of Christians who enjoy “a better way” to approach Jehovah God.
The Church in Wrocław, Poland
Sunday provided an opportunity to once again worship with the Lord’s Family in Wrocław, Poland. The Church meets in an upper office complex. The Church is small, but it is MIGHTY in spirit and love. It is a genuine joy to assemble and worship together.
The Wrocław brothers and sisters always ask about their brethren in the USA.
I was asked to preach and chose Ephesians 2 as the text. That single chapter summarizes God’s great scheme of Redemption in a marvelous way. The theme of Ephesians 2 is “peace.” And true peace is found only in Christ, “for He is our peace.”
The Wrocław brethren send you this verse, “All the brothers and sisters greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss” (1 Corinthians 16:20)

I ask you to remember my trip in prayer with the Apostle’s request in Ephesians 6:19, “(O)n my behalf, that utterance may be given unto me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel.”
