Fall Trip 2023 report #2

We have arrived in Poland! This was one of the smoothest trips that I can remember. All flights were on time and all bags arrived. Tanya met us at Warsaw Chopin Airport and got us to the airport. We had some things scheduled after we got settled in. One of these was to visit Volodya and we will send another report on that.

At this point all three of us are struggling with jet lag but hoe that tomorrow it will be different. Today Chip said “I can’t believe it is Thursday. Where did the other days go?”

We navigated the border crossings all in a total of 15 minutes!

Perry’s thoughts

God gave us a safe flight from Montgomery to Warsaw where Tanya met us. We checked into our hotel and the following morning we headed to Ivano-Frankivsk and crossed the border into Ukraine within 15 minutes, the fastest yet. We arrived safely at the hotel by 10:30pm.

Chip’s thoughts

God is good and watches over his children. The mission team has finally made it to Ivan-Frankivsk around 10:30PM local time tonight. The preparation and some of the travel aspects has had some bumps for me along the way thank-you Delta et.al. but it hasn’t lessened my zeal to be a part of this trips mission team and the Devil isn’t going to discourage me.

Working to get over jet lag but it’s getting better. One of my goals to accomplish was to visit the young disabled young man I met 4 years ago. He continued to have studies with members of the Ivano-Frankivsk Church and was immersed 2 years ago just before I was supposed to come again but a positive COVID19 test result kept me from flying even though I had no symptoms.

The whole 3-member mission team stopped by to visit Voloydoa and his mother after we were settled in at our hotel in Warsaw Poland after we arrived yesterday.  It was a blessing to see him and the team enjoyed the hospitality refreshments his mom prepared.

Got an early start today and traveled over 600+ kilometers in a small van with Kostya our driver. Found out along the way another of our goals for the trip will happen when we go to nearby Yaremche tomorrow to present an Alabama State flag which has flown over our Montgomery capital to Andrew Ivanovch Myroniak, the mayor, for his help with our efforts in the Ukraine missions effort.

Keep checking in since we will have daily updates!

Remember our mission in prayers asking God to grant us success and to open doors of opportunity! Colossians 4:2-4
