JOHN IS CURRENTLY ON HIS SPRING TRIP TO UKRAINE. PLEASE KEEP HIM IN YOUR PRAYERS.

Update – 5/21/22

Pharmaceutical warehouse in New Jersey. Thanks to contacts that Charita has developed we have been given a HUGE donation of medicines for Ukraine!

The War Relief efforts that the Dalraida Church of Christ are coordinating and that are supported by the Churches of Christ (and many others moved by compassion), continue at an amazing progress. It is almost unbelievable the many opportunities that are opened for us until you apply the principles of Ephesians 3:201-21.

Multiple opportunities are offered from every possible direction; constant phone messages and emails with each needing an immediate response; scheduling loadings throughout the USA; the pressure of shipping cost escalating at juggernaut speed; managing Port protocols and trucker schedules; and, completing documents and translating documents. Today Tanya sent an email saying, “It sounds bad but sometimes I hate my phone.” Yesterday Charita remarked that her phone had been ringing even before getting out of bed and she had not had opportunity to look at her email and was starting to dig through them (this was late afternoon).

We are quickly approaching 70+ shipments into Poland/Ukraine since early March.

Medications Offered

Several weeks ago we received a phone call offering us another HUGE load of pharmaceuticals. After all the surprises with the first load of 313 pallets air lifted into Poland, trucked into Lviv and sorted by a dedicated team, it was unnerving to accept this offer. But we did. We applied the lessons learned from the first and have improved operations for the second.

This offer came from Taro Medications and it is located in New Jersey. Charita has worked constantly on the operational nuts & bolts. We have enjoyed cooperation with Zaka Khan Foundation, Help Free Ukraine Organization, and BlueRose Group. Charita’s World of Connections Program has sent out emails to our network throughout Ukraine.

Now here is the AMAZING development for this shipment. Instead of airlifting the entire donation and trying to connect needs with commodities there, we will receive sort and ship directly to organizations in Ukraine. These have been sent the list with a request to indicate what they specifically need at their location. Then these lists will be sorted and delivered directly to recipients. Now here is the most amazing fact—these will be airlifted and delivered directly into various locations in Ukraine FREE. A shipping company in Ukraine called Nova Posta has offered to do the transport and delivery with no charge!

Today, Saturday 21 May, Charita has an army of volunteers in New Jersey working to sort, palatize, and wrap the requests we have received.

I received this note from Charita: “As far as the Taro medication, they have arrived today. Tomorrow we are going to sort them and pack them in pallets with a specific delivery destination. These medications should be on the plane to UA next week.”

Kherson Update

Hello again! Have just talked with Evgena and the situation is horrible there. I had goose bumps listening to all the horror stories that they are facing every day. They are really besieged; the whole Region is. There’s no way to bring anything in other than from the Crimea. And they got so desperate that had to use even that venue. I told her we could get her some funds to buy food/meds there and she’s to send me banking info. She’s out of town right now for the weekend as it’s even more heartbreaking to stay in the city. She’ll look at the list on Mon and will talk to doctors and will send her request. So, please, don’t give away everything as yet. More than half of their stuff has left so it’s a real challenge to do what they are doing. Oh, it is so heartbreaking… Yuriy is still in hospital (see https://www.kachelman.com/ukraine/blog/2022/03/10/daily-update-3-9-22-2/). Evgena’s sending greetings and a plea to you to look for ways to break the siege. Need to go back to work now.

Hugs,
Tanya

Ivano-Frankvisk Update from Ivan

Greetings, brother.

Tomorrow together the church will get together to clean the meeting place and around it. We will be getting ready for Sunday service. We’ve done a lot today and will continue tomorrow. Thank you for prayers. War, fuel shortage and air raid alerts slow down everything. Sorry! May the Lord keep you safe. We are looking forward to seeing you on the 29th. I have set up the meetings. Military authorities want to meet with you. Those are all new people. There’s not much red tape now. Attached are pics from the children’s home, which we’ve helped for many years. Gif and Nate went there some time ago. Thank you for your prayers and help! Our strength is in the unity of the Spirit of Christ!

Mike Lawson (Lenoir City, TN) brought a truckload of donations to Columbia, TN

Yesterday Michael Lawson brought a truckload from Lenoir City, TN to Columbia, TN that will be a part of their next container load. Mike brought Family Buckets, hygiene bags, leftover supplies, tents, and school supplies. Among the load were SIXTEEN HOMEMADE QUILTS! These were donated by the Christian ladies at the Maryville, TN congregation.

The success and results of our actions is due NOT to our own strength, abilities, and networks, BUT to the Almighty’s providential workings that are truly amazing.

Tomorrow I will be with the Wayne Furnace congregation in Waynesboro, TN. I will report on our efforts thus far and preach at all services. One of my lessons will focus on the assurance given in Habakkuk 1:5, “Look…Watch!…Be…speechless! For I am accomplishing a work in your days—you would not believe it even if you were told!”

Our God is an AMAZING GOD!

Thank you for your partnership and generous support in these efforts to offer relief in the Lord’s Name to those who are devastated by evil.
