JOHN IS CURRENTLY ON HIS SPRING TRIP TO UKRAINE. PLEASE KEEP HIM IN YOUR PRAYERS.

The Vulnerable…and inconvenient reality!

There are some things you cannot “unsee.” These are disturbing images that pierce your soul and burden your spirit. These are issues, matters and faces that most choose to ignore. In our modern world of comfort and conveniences, these are “an inconvenient reality.” As such most will likely turn their head and pass by on the other side.

Indifference is not an option. The Lord commented about actions helping these inconvenient people and observed behavior “even to the least” of the vulnerable is an act of compassion to the Lord Himself (Matthew 25:40).

Sometimes we need to be shocked at the inconvenient realities of life so we will DO something!

I have visited a number of “invalid” houses in Ukraine. I assure you I wish I could “unsee” what I have seen. But I cannot. My responsibility to help cannot be absolved.

I have received a report from Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine detailing a few of the recent actions of the church of Christ there. They have been busily distributing containers of humanitarian aid to medical centers, villages, and the vulnerable. Distributions have been in the Regions of Ivano-Frankivsk (western Ukraine) and Luhansk (eastern Ukraine portions of which Russia’s military has bombed, invaded and occupied).

Here is Ivan’s narrative on these actions…

Luhansk Abandoned Children in the war zone

“In the photographs are the sick children I send you. These children have abandoned by the parents are in the Luhansk Region in the territory of the ATO (i.e. the war zone where Russia is committing terrorism). We support them with humanitarian assistance by sending diapers and other critical supplies through a former officer of the Ukrainian army. His name is Anatoly, he is now engaged in the help of those people who were left to all, people and children who suffered from the war. I have written about this group in several of my monthly reports with the last mention being in your February/March newsletter. Through our partnership we are able to send critically needed relief items to those in greatest need.”

Olga with her FIRST pair of brand new shoes!

“The woman in the photo is named Olga. She lives in the village where Masha is from and where her family now lives. Olga is all alone. She has no one to help her and is at the mercy of this world. She seldom feels any kindness from world. Ruslan and Masha support Olga and other such people in the village. They presented her with new shoes and that is something wonderful to her as she never had new shoes. They give out the Bible and talk about Christ and His love for all humans no matter what their status is in this world.”

Distribution of shoes is also performed in the rural school of villages. Here are photos of Masha giving out shoes in one of schools where she lived as a child. The children in this school are half orphans and from poor families where parents are disabled.

We are thankful to JOHN MORRISON for arranging the shipments of new shoes last year!

THANK YOU to each who has partnered with us in this constant effort to show God’s love and kindness through His Church on earth! We continue to receive constant reports from Ivano-Frankivsk on their efforts. The construction of the building continues and that will provide an operational base for even greater efforts that bring glory to God!

Will YOU HELP?
