Report #9 – October 9, 2016

(The above photo shows those who gathered together as the Lord’s Church in worship in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine October 9, 2016)

For me the second Lord’s Day in Ivano-Frankivsk on this trip was another time of wonderful fellowship, fantastic environment and true Bible based lessons seeking to persuade those who heard to follow God’s revealed will. Brother Scot Lockwood (Montgomery, AL) preached. Scott’s lesson studied Naaman and how that narrative from so long ago is practical to modern man.

We had standing room only again! As the service began I thought that there would be several vacant seats but more and more started coming until several found themselves standing throughout the assembly. At the end John Durham came up with 51 present for the worshipping assembly.

After the worship period Dianna (granddaughter of Yaroslav and Luba) announced it was her 16th birthday and she had brought birthday cake and treats for the Church to share. We had already enjoyed a delicious breakfast that was far more than we should eat and most were still stuffed. But when the birthday cakes were brought out I did not see anyone turning them down! Several from Dalraida were able to enjoy a “Napoleon Tort” for the first time!

Following the worship assembly and Dianna’s birthday we had a congregational fellowship meal. The food was very good and most visitors from Dalraida were introduced to some Ukrainian foods that they now want more to enjoy!

Tomorrow morning begins an intense week of work with the Dalraida group. We have a schedule that starts early in the mornings and ends late in the evening.
