Our group has arrived minus 4 bags lost by the airplane\nbaggage system!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They began with a delay leaving the Montgomery airport. This\ndelay caused them to miss their connection in Atlanta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They made the Atlanta connection to Amsterdam. I heard they\nwere boarding in Amsterdam and then Gif sent word they had taxied to leave and\na passenger got ill and the plane had to turn around. Sonya is one of the\ninterpreters and had been sent to Kyiv to meet the group and take them on the\ntrain into Ivano-Frankivsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are the messages sent back and forth\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sonya: 11:07 \u201cLeaving for the airport\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sonya: 12:29 \u201cFlight is delayed till 2:14\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gif: \u201cJust landed in Kyiv. Someone on the plane got ill and slowed us down. FYI it was not one of ours that got ill.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simba: \u201cI didn\u2019t even know that happened for I was sleeping\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sonya: 3:22 \u201c4 have come through\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JohnK: \u201cWhere are the other 5?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gif: \u201cMissing FOUR bags. We\u2019ve got it under control. Delivery to be tomorrow in Ivano-Frankivsk\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sonya: 3:50 \u201cAll good. Going to eat\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sonya: 10:14 pm \u201cWe are on the train!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before she went to Kyiv, I met with Sonya and discussed trying to herd 9 Americans who were jet-lagging. She said that in Kindergarten classes the teacher has a rope and each child holds on so as not to get lost. I did not think we had any Kindergarten kids but then I received this photo of the group at the restaurant where Sonya took them to eat. She captioned it \u201cWe are having fun!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
