{"id":4023,"date":"2019-08-22T07:07:58","date_gmt":"2019-08-22T12:07:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kachelman.com\/ukraine\/blog\/?p=4023"},"modified":"2019-08-22T07:08:59","modified_gmt":"2019-08-22T12:08:59","slug":"ivano-frankivsk-construction-update-21-august-2019-so-we-built-the-wall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kachelman.com\/ukraine\/blog\/2019\/08\/22\/ivano-frankivsk-construction-update-21-august-2019-so-we-built-the-wall\/","title":{"rendered":"Ivano-Frankivsk Construction Update 21 August 2019 \u201cSo we built the wall\u2026\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most exciting texts in\nthe Old Testament is Nehemiah 4:6, <em>\u201cSo we&nbsp;built&nbsp;the wall and the\nwhole wall was joined together to half its&nbsp;height, for the people had a mind\nto work.\u201d <\/em>This text applauds eager cooperation, God\u2019s Providential\ngoverning, and a stubborn concern and resolve for the condition of the Lord\u2019s\nPeople.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now transition to our current times in\nwestern Ukraine and to a congregation of the Lord\u2019s People that has faced\nevil\u2019s multiple attacks and challenges. The congregation demonstrated compassion\nas it distributed critically needed benevolent supplies for medical facilities,\nschools, orphanages, the elderly, those devastated by Russia\u2019s war, and the\nvulnerable. These commodities were donated, packed and shipped by Christians in\nthe USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The benevolent actions were well\nreceived by Ukrainians and their appreciation was shown in a number of ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A\nprime plot of land dedicated for religious purposes was donated to the\ncongregation to build an operations center. This gift was almost seized by\nopponents to our efforts but God\u2019s Providence intervened and the property is\nsolidly secure.<\/li><li>\u201cWe\nhave been given wood that was cut. This tree was given to us from the forest\nbecause of the fact that we helped many in the wooded area with humanitarian\naid. They sawed in the size that we need for the roof.\u201d<\/li><li>\u201cAs\na result of our humanitarian aid and help to the needy, one of the Supreme\nRada\u2019s deputies intervened on our behalf and the cement plant gave us 5\n(metric) tons of cement for our construction free of charge.\u201d<\/li><li>All\nbrick was purchased before there was a huge prince increase.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our goal this summer is to complete the\nsecond-floor bricking and put a roof over the structure. This will allow us to\nfinish at least one large room before the bitter winter arrives. Here is a\nreport from Ivano-Frankivsk on the progress:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cGreetings, brethren! Today, which is Wednesday (21 August 2019),\nwe discussed some questions after the Bible class and decided to set a date\nnext week when everybody could come and help with construction to help workers\nfinish walls as soon as possible. Men agreed. We understand that all of us have\njobs and have to provide for families but we are pressed by circumstances to\nstick with our terms. That is why we will need women to help us later on, too. Tomorrow\n(22 August 2019), the main wooden trusses for the auditorium\u2019s roof in the new\nbuilding will be delivered. The work is going as planned. These are pics\nshowing where we are as of today.\u201d<\/em><em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Raising the funds to complete this phase\nhas been challenging, BUT we thank God that we are over 75% of the required\namount. This facility will provide legitimacy for the congregation and an\noperation\u2019s base for actions not only in western Ukraine but in the neighboring\ncountries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Will you help us finish? We are where we\nare today because of the generosity and partnership of many. Our brethren in\nUkraine are giving from their meager resources and they are joining with manual\nlabor. After the roof is installed, they will finish the interior. They are\ndoing all they can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a letter from May 2019 the brethren pleaded, <em>\u201cThese are things we cannot do ourselves. That is why we plead with you for financial help so that we can complete construction of the church building. We beg you for help for the sake of our common goal to spread the Gospel and expand God\u2019s Kingdom in the earth.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Consider the amazing progress. Contemplate the boundless opportunities that will open for the congregation.
