Today’s high is to be 46F but is cloudy and rainy making it feel even colder.

Here is a good illustration of the amazing network that has providentially developed as a result of our efforts to ship containers of relief supplies into Ukraine. Our efforts have connected us with a large number of groups that have amazing connections. The above photo is of the NGO “Committee of voters in Prikarpatia.”

Pictured in the photo (L to R): Perry Baker, Maxim Lysiuk, Sergii Nahodkin, Dr. Oles Teslenko, and Sergii.

This group is headed by Dr. Oles and finds donors of pharmaceutical supplies, surgical tools, various medications, tourniquets etc. They make two separate bags. One specifically for front line field doctors and one for the clinics and healthcare facilities on, or near, the front line treating the wounded. Our shipments assist in offering various medical disposables and food. In the photo you can see some of the boxes of electrolyte drink mixes that we shipped. You can see the supplies surrounding them and while these look like a huge stock, most will be gone by the time you read this!

Illustrating how these connections have blessed our efforts…the other day Tanya received a call from a Christian brother. He was saying that his physical brother had been recruited into a newly formed battalion. This battalion has nothing for their medical teams. He was asking if we had any medical supplies or equipment left in the storage building in Ivano-Frankivsk (he helped us unload many containers and knows what we ship). Because of shipping costs that have prevented us from shipping as many containers, our inventory is low. But we will offer what we have. Perry will contact Dr. Oles and get some supplies from them. So, it looks like we will be able to assist this brother’s request!

I should note that these requests are not automatically filled. There is an approval protocol based upon the compliance of the regulations (photos; names; etc.) of those requesting. Sadly the graft and abuse are widespread because some feel there is no need to comply with the prevailing protocols.

Recently we were eating with Mayor Anatoly when a friend of his walked by the table. With this friend was a group that I found out were medical surgeons from Boston, MA. They were in the area involved in a conference regarding trauma surgical procedures. When this group met us, they said, “Oh very good to meet you and to know you face-to-face. Thank you for your care.” We continued talking and met again the following day. They are impressed with our efforts and, having known of us, are eager to help.

I am reminded of the old “pebble tossed into a still lake” illustration. When do the ripples caused by that pebble stop moving the water? In theory, they never stop as the impact and influence continue even when the visible stops. Such is a good illustration of our efforts. What we are doing may seem insignificant but just wait and see the inevitable results!

The results…how do you measure success? Man wants to measure success only in visual ways and on the mission field that is often in reports of immersions—the more reported the greater the success. We should rejoice in immersions but do not let that measure success. According to Paul our duty is to plant and water and then God gives the increase through the power of the Word.

Our success is measured by the impact of our leaven, light, and salt. Our impact should be that for which brethren were accused in Acts 17:6, “These men who have turned the world upside down!” That occurs with the impact of our presence. Because of our presence the leaven of Christ brings light and results in a salty lifestyle change! Respect and reverence are planted and watered and ultimately brings increase.

And…this is made possible by your generosity in supporting our efforts in collecting, shipping and funding various actions that are often unseen! THANK YOU!

Pray for our success in seeing and taking advantage of the “open doors” that are before us!

John L.
