Trip Report 14—The Ivano-Frankivsk Church at worship

Feature Photo: The Church of Christ met for worship and fellowship May 4, 2025.

The third Sunday of the trip was filled with joy as the Church met for worship. John Durham concluded his series focusing on the Easter Holidays with a lesson discussing “What does the cross mean to you?” It was a practical lesson discussing how Christ’s resurrection impacts our lives. A special emphasis was on evangelism.

After the worship period, the Church continued with fellowship opportunities. Oksana Paziy had brought a delicious Napoleon Tort. Anything Oksana cooks is always tasty and the tort was wonderful. It vanished in a blink of an eye!

The Church enjoyed a meal together in a restaurant across the street and several enjoyed sampling, from others, the different menu items ordered.

There continues to be a number of visitors attending and Gif is working with each to answer any questions they have. One lady has been visiting for several weeks. She is a friend of Vova and Natalie. She was invited by them to visit and has been constant ever since. Last Wednesday for Bible study Gif had a Q&A session. He asked those attending what Bible questions they would like to discuss. This lady instantly said, “I have questions about Acts 2 and baptism. Why do some wait to be immersed?” This was interesting because she has not yet been immersed. Her question, and searching heart opened the opportunity for Gif to give a good explanation of Acts 2 and specifically the question she raised. Great door of opportunity is open!

As I begin the final week of this trip, I have a schedule already full. It will be a busy week with lots of opportunities!

Here are a few of photos from the Church today…

Please continue praying for our efforts! Our request is the same as Paul’s in Colossians 4:3, “praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ.”
