Her Battle With Lymphoma
On March 2, 2004, Rachel found out she had Nodular sclerosis (NS) Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Although this news was devastating in some ways, Rachel's battle with this disease brought numerous blessings to all our lives. People from all over the world poured out their love and prayers during her treatment and suffering.
Throughout Rachel's treatments, we kept our friends and family updated on Rachel's progress by posting her results and treatment on this site. What is Hodgkin's Lymphoma?
From Wikipedia: Hodgkin's lymphoma, also known as Hodgkin's disease, is a type of lymphoma first described by Thomas Hodgkin in 1832. Hodgkin's lymphoma is characterized clinically by the orderly spread of disease from one lymph node group to another and by the development of systemic symptoms with advanced disease. Pathologically, the disease is characterized by the presence of Reed-Sternberg cells. Hodgkin's lymphoma was one of the first cancers to be cured by radiation.
